Children grow quickly. Their things can keep going. Spend seven days finding the clothes, toys, books and children’s items your family has outgrown, then give them another life.
You do not need to clear everything at once. Tackle one part of family life each day and decide what is ready for its next chapter.

Check wardrobes, drawers, coats and seasonal clothing for things that no longer fit or are no longer worn.

Find toys that are no longer played with, have been outgrown or are duplicates.

Choose books your child has finished with and another family could enjoy.

Gather baby gear and nursery items your family no longer needs.

Check shoes, bags, hats, gloves and other children’s accessories.

Look at bikes, outdoor toys, furniture and other bigger children’s items.

Decide what happens next to everything you found.
There is no single right answer. Choose the next life that makes sense for each item and for your family.
Before passing on, donating or selling an item, check that it is safe, complete and suitable for reuse. Some baby and children’s products need extra care when being reused or bought second-hand.
Check the UK Government’s product recalls and safety alerts and read the GOV.UK guidance on buying second-hand goods where relevant.
If an item is recalled, damaged or otherwise unsuitable for reuse, do not pass it on, donate it or sell it. Follow any official recall instructions and dispose of or recycle the item responsibly where appropriate.

Save sentimental pieces or useful items you know your family will need again.

Give useful items directly to friends, relatives or another family who can use them.

Choose a suitable charity or community organisation for good-condition items. Check what they currently accept before donating.

For things that cannot be reused, use the appropriate local recycling route where available.

Help another family buy preloved while recovering some value from items your family has finished with.

Hello,
We’re sharing a free family challenge that may be useful if you have children’s things at home that are no longer being used.
Outgrown, Not Wasted is a 7-Day Children’s Clear-Out Challenge created by Kidora. Each day focuses on one area: clothes, toys, books, baby equipment, shoes and accessories, larger items, and finally deciding what should happen next.
The aim is to help families work through outgrown items in manageable steps and give useful things another life.
Families can choose what works best for each item: keep it, pass it on, donate it, recycle responsibly or sell it.
The challenge is free and can be completed whenever it suits your family.
You can view the challenge and download the free 7-Day Family Checklist here:

Best wishes,
